3D Metal Printing
Faustson Tool is proud to offer 3D metal printing technology to our clients. Also known as additive manufacturing (AM), this technology uses a variety of metals and alloys to create complex, high-quality products directly from 3D CAD data without the need for tooling. Faustson assists customers with 3D printing projects regularly to reduce their design cycle times significantly.
Why Choose 3D Metal Printing?
- Complex Geometries Directly from 3D CAD
- High Accuracy and Detail Resolution
- Fine Surface Quality
- Reduces Design Cycle Times
- Process Wide Variety of Materials
What is 3D Metal Printing?
3D metal printing is also known also as additive manufacturing (AM), and sometimes referred to as Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS). Our Concept Laser / GE Additive M2 cusing Multilaser machine uses a laser beam to melt 20-40 micron layers of metal powder on top of each other to create metal parts. This additive process is similar to 3D printing, although metal powder is spread across a build platform and melted into place, rather than an extruded plastic filament.
